How to Ride the Bus

The Mule Town Trolley Transit Buses operate on what is called a deviated fixed-route system. This means that a bus/trolley is scheduled to arrive at a certain destination point along its route at a fixed time of day. Deviation up to of a mile off the main route may be requested 72 hours in advance. Plan to be at your stop several minutes before the bus's scheduled arrival time because schedule times may vary slightly due to inclement weather and traffic conditions. Patrons must wait at the designated bus stop area. Before getting on the bus, take a look at the display sign over the front windshield to confirm the bus route and final destination. If in doubt, just ask the driver.

Boarding the Bus
As you get on the bus at the front door, you will need to drop your fare into the fare box or show pass to the driver. If you have any questions about your fare and/or destination, ask the driver BEFORE depositing your money. Patrons will need the EXACT FARE in either coins or dollar bills because the fare box does not make change and the DRIVERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE CHANGE.

Be at the designated bus stop on time. Mule Town Trolley/Connection Buses do not stop to pick up riders unless they are at a designated bus stop.

Departing the Bus
Buses have an automated system that makes audio and visual announcements approaching stops. The visual announcements are near the ceiling of the bus in the front. Once your stop is announced, signal the driver or pull the stop requested cord. Please Remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop.

Riders can disembark from the bus anywhere safe along the route.

Once you exit, step away from the bus and wait until it leaves before crossing the street. NEVER CROSS IN FRONT OF THE BUS - APPROACHING MOTORISTS MAY NOT SEE YOU. Traffic doesn't stop for Intercity Transit buses as it does for school buses.

NOTE: The Mule Town Trolley Deviated Fixed Route Service attempts to maintain a prompt schedule but route deviations and traffic conditions may create delays. Thank you for your patience.
